Beatles, Team Zissou, Godzilla and Who Killed Sir Monday? It Must Be Carpe Diem!
Last year when Titan Comics made their debut into the world of monthly comics one of their titles was A-1 an anthology from Atomeka Press that contained three ongoing stories. One of those stories and honestly the breakout of the bunch was Caprediem from writer W.H. Rauf and illustrator Rhoald Marcellius. Titan offered me the chance to talk to both creators and let's just say after reading the collected first volume, I knew I had to pick their brains.
Cincy Comic Con '14 Recap
This past weekend was the second annual Cincy Comic Con. Like many things in Cincinnati, it was technically in Northern Kentucky, which is the nice part of Kentucky that Ohio likes to lay claim to as if it were our own.
My Pull List - Steve Paugh (9/10/14)
Hey there, Bastards! It’s your old Uncle Traveling Steve, back from exploring outer space (i.e., Eurasia) to bring you my official, ComicBastards-sanctioned Pull List! Rejoice, etc.
Review: Silent Hill Downpour: Anne’s Story #1
Silent Hill is a horror based survival game video game that is not new to the comic book world. Enter Silent Hill: Downpour: Anne’s Story. A tie in that follows a secondary character from the video game’s narrative. Well…yeah okay let’s do that.
Review: Fear Agent Vol. 6 - Out Of Step
We’re here, friends. This is the end of everything. This is where the Fear Agent universe ends; not with a whimper, but with a bang.
My Pull List: New 52 Future’s End Special (9/10/14) and 9/3 Recap With James Anders II
I started into the DC’s New 52 Futures End Month full throttle choosing five issues that I wanted to give a try during the week of the initial releases on 09-03-2014. Unfortunately, I was not as pleased as I would like to have been for such an “Event” and for such sweet, sweet 3D moving covers. Covers get an A+. The five that I read… not so much.
Bombshell Batwoman Is In A League of Her Own
Get it! Ah, whatever. I actually really dig this cosplay. Maybe it's the whole baseball kick that I'm on, but the thought and execution of this cosplay is top-notch.
WTF Happened To PG-13? (Video)
This is another interesting video. I don't think all of the points are spot on, particularly when it talks about Expendables 3 and a few of the MPAA things, but it's interesting. Is the movie rating system going to be overhauled? No. Is it corrupt? Yes.
Spider-Woman's Big Ass Is A Big Deal! (Video)
I have never seen a video from Maddox before, but after this video which addresses the "controversy" that Milo Manara's variant cover created for Spider-Woman #1... well I think I'll be checking out more videos. He makes some great points and he's got the balls to call people out by name.
Episode 149: Watchmen 2 Straight To DVD
Welcome again to another leg slapping episode of the CBMFP. Okay we don't actually promise leg slapping, at least not due to humor... more than likely it will be us butchering a name or something, but you get the picture.
Mortal Kombat X Releases In April 2015 and Goro Is Koming Along
The good part is that everyone's favorite half man, half dragon combatant is coming to the next installment of the classic fighting game series.Which is "kind of a big deal" because this will be the first time he has been playable in eight years.
Group Review: Death of Wolverine #1
Welcome, welcome to another Comic Bastards group review. If you’re unfamiliar with the format, its where writers of the site come together and give their opinions of an issue along with their own numeric score for the issue in question. Before that, here’s a summary for Death of Wolverine #1.
New Live Action Destiny Trailer
Everybody and I mean everybody on the internet thinks that this live action trailer for Bungie's upcoming FPS, Destiny is jocking the shit out of Marvel's summer block buster, Guardian of the Galaxy. If you got a few minutes, peep it and see what you think.
The Info Zombie – Episode 81: Dustin Is Back!
Dustin Cabeal from Comic Bastards provides some great insight into the Comic Industry, superhero films, and how to be awesome.
If They Don't Call This Ride "The Goddamn Batman" They're Stupid
Yeah I finally watched that fucking Batman The Ride roller coaster simulation video. It made me dizzy, but I would wait a good two hours to ride that fucking thing. Too bad I refuse to go to Texas to ride it.
Manga Arthur Fan Arts Kill la Kill's Ryuko
I could list the wikipedia info for author/artist Ume Aoki, but honestly I don't know their work. I do think this piece they drew of Ryuko from Kill la Kill is awesome and it says something about your property when other creators illustrate your characters just for the hell of it.
Sailor Mars Lingerie At The Pool!
Monica Wos' Sailor Moon lingerie cosplay wins above all the others because she took hers to the pool. There's only two pics, but pool. Again... pool.
Review: Alien Legion: Uncivil War #3
The third book in the four issue Alien Legion: Uncivil War mini-series begins with a Harkilon ultimatum and ramps up the threat level from there.
Review: Masumi: Blades of Sin #2
Every week I read at least one comic that reaffirms why I love the medium, which makes it bearable to occasion across crap like the second issue of Masumi: Blades of Sin.
