Review: One-Punch Man vol. 14
By Dustin Cabeal
One-Punch Man is a rare title. There will never be anything else like it because it is the perfect meeting of writing and art. While most people continue to be more familiar with the anime than the manga and really just falling in love with the gimmick and comedy, there is so much more going on in this series. To some, this will sound utterly crazy, but One-Punch Man is a brilliant representation of life.

Review: One-Punch Man vol. 13
By Dustin Cabeal
Having already read most of this volume on the Shonen Jump Weekly App, I wasn’t expecting much. At least not in terms of story surprises. There is something to be said about seeing Yusuke Murata’s artwork in print though. It translates to the page better. Thinking back on some of the digital pages, I feel like I was just reading the story and not taking in the artwork like I usually do. When I realized that, it made it worth it to read this volume again as a whole.

Review: One-Punch Man vol. 12
By Dustin Cabeal
If there’s a hotter franchise to come from Japan in the past few years, then I don’t know what it is. I have been approached by so many people regarding One-Punch Man due to the anime, that it shows that it’s transcended just being a manga.

Unboxing: Loot Anime - July 2017
By Dustin Cabeal
Still July so this still counts. Really I got it on Saturday, but then I forgot about it until today. The first thing you're going to see me talk about is some One-Punch Man figures. I thought the plastic gave them a weird glare, turned out to just be a terrible paint job on the figures. I've included some pictures below because it is really bad. Part of it is faded, but in pictures, it looks like a glare so I couldn't even capture the full extent of how shitty they are. It was disappointing, to say the least, because they finally got something One-Punch Man related into the damn box. Also, I flipped through the KonoSuba manga. If you listen to the podcast or follow my manga coverage then you know that I'm a huge fan of the show. The manga was pretty much the entire first season condensed down. Disgusting.

027 - On this week's episode, Lindsay and Dustin continue their now sponsored segment of Titan Talk, just kidding... that would be too awesome to be sponsored, but they do continue to talk about the second season of Attack on Titan. There is also some discussion about the latest Loot Anime, which you can watch here. Otherwise, it's business as usual on Comic Bastards' anime podcast!

ONE-PUNCH MAN Anime Series Debuts On Home Media From VIZ Media
By Dustin Cabeal
If you listened to this week's Comic Bastards Podcast we actually talk about One-Punch Man. You should listen to that and also buy this if you haven't watched it yet. It's worth owning even if there are a bunch of streaming options... shit, I might buy it and I need more anime like a hole in the head.

Review: Weekly Shonen Jump no. 18
By Dustin Cabeal
Hey, there’s more for me to review in this issue! Yay! I will update you that I’m getting closer and closer to being caught up on Black Clover, so you’ll likely see me reviewing that one in the future. After the difficulty in catching up on One-Punch Man, I might just jump to it when I get close. Get it? Jump! Anyway, I didn’t review Food Wars!, My Hero Academia and One Piece in addition to not reviewing Black Clover.

Review: Weekly Shonen Jump no. 17
By Dustin Cabeal
Last week was busy, so I never got around to reviewing last week’s issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. To be honest, other than the new Jump Start series Robot x Laserbeam, there wasn’t much to talk about in a review. I did make the terrible decision to catch up on One-Punch Man, but will likely continue to review the trades since I find the pacing to be much better. Eventually, I’ll catch up with Black Clover as well since I enjoy the series and need something else to review when I do this. Anyway, from the top!

Review: One-Punch Man vol. 11
By Dustin Cabeal
I had quite a few problems with the tenth volume of One-Punch Man, and some of that is echoed in this volume. There is a lot of improvement even if there’s still too much of a dependency on “Bonus” stories to keep the thickness of the volume consistent.

Review: One-Punch Man vol. 10
By Dustin Cabeal
I have one gripe with this volume of One-Punch Man. There’s a lot of filler at the end of the volume. Granted it’s still entertaining and well-illustrated, but it’s not what I’m here for. It feels like Viz trying to pad the pages so that they can get a few extra volumes squeezed into the run. The “Bonus Manga” ends up being just over a fourth of the volume. Add that to the fact that the rest of the volume is split between Saitama, the baseball bat guy, and the current Human Monster bad guy, and it starts to feel stretched.

Unboxing: Loot Anime – September 2016
By Dustin Cabeal
Got it on the last day! Still, counts right? First off, had a minor mess up in the middle of the video. Sorry, probably won't do it this way again because as you'll see, I didn't have the camera aimed where I fucking thought I did for about half the video. I will say, this is probably the best Loot Crate/Loot Anime I've gotten. If my brother wasn't a Bleach fan, I would have kept everything, but otherwise, I'm happy with what I got. I hope there's more like it in the future. Also, here's a picture of the watch since I didn't want to fuck with it while recording.

CBMFP 253: Shared Universe
By Dustin Cabeal
There's a weird hiccup at the beginning that couldn't be fixed. It's over quickly so don't worry about it too much. After that we discuss more nerd suits, that's right, nerds are taking over fashion... or are they? Ghost in the Shell released some teaser things, and we address what they kind of are. DC's writer program announced the class of 2016 or something. It's a fellowship of sorts, let's get over the whole school thing. There's more TV talk as well, including the season premiere of Agents of Shield. Exciting.
