Review: Jackboot and Ironheel #4
By Mike Badilla
Jackboot and Ironheel has been an awesome WWII sci-fi series so far. In case you've missed the first three issues, a quick recap: Eddie Neale was set to be a famous footballer in England when he was drafted into the Royal Air Force and sent to fight against the Germans. His plane was shot down, he was captured and taken to Lungotz Luftzig prison. In the prison, there are strange happenings including hauntings and inexplicable deaths of the guards! Some of the nuns have befriended Eddie, as well as one of the guards, which was bad news for young Sister Evangeline, as she was caught helping Eddie and shot by one of the guards. We left of with her dying in Eddies arms...

Review: Yakuza Demon Killers #1
By Dustin Cabeal
Lately, IDW has been amping up its original IP’s, which is a good thing. I would much rather check out something like Yakuza Demon Killers over their latest Transformers title: Transformers: The Training Wheels Are Off! or Revolting: How Many Hasbro Licenses Do We Have?! (Side note, great job taking all the individually successful brands and slamming them into a shared universe, I’m so interested now… so interested).

IDW Announces Highlander Prequel Comic
By Dustin Cabeal
If you've listened to the CBMFP over the years you may have picked up on the fact that I'm a big Highlander fan. Aside from watching all of the movies, and I do mean all of the movies, I also watched that really shitty cartoon they did... also an animated movie. Maybe those are the same thing, if they're not I've seen them both! Point is, I should be a little excited by this because I've willing sat through a lot of bad Highlander shit, is a comic cashing in on that really that bad? But it's IDW... which kills any excitement, but even worse than that they're calling it a prequel to the movie which is just stupid.

Review: Batman/TMNT Adventures #1
By Chris Tresson
The Batman and The Turtles... Another miniseries featuring these two franchises and a scary crossover for me, as I found the last one to be a complete and utter bag of wank. It was very disappointing to see two things I’ve loved since I was a child treated so badly. I’m hoping this miniseries will do these characters justice, because with characters like these, a crossover event between the two should be absolutely epic…

Review: The Killer Inside Me #2
By Laramie Martinez
The Killer Inside Me #2 is a decent step up from the previous issue. While the issue succeeds in tackling the story’s harsh subject matter with style and menace, it remains a little inconsistent. The writing also slows down considerably in this issue, so the pace of the previous issue is not a problem here. Check out below for the details.
Review: Jackboot and Ironheel #3
By Mike Badilla
In issue 3 of Jackboot and Ironheel, we find our hero, Eddie, has been recaptured by the Nazis and returned to Lungotz prison camp. For those that missed my review of issue 2, Eddie was given a chance to escape from the camp by some of the nuns working there. However, he was unable to make a run for it as he was confronted by something creepy in the surrounding waters. A Nazi soldier is recounting the capture by radio to his commanding officer, including that one of the soldiers was lost to the threat in the water, called "Muggenthaler," by the soldier.
Review: TMNT Universe #2
By Chris Tresson
TMNT Universe #2 is out this week from IDW. I reviewed the first issue and it was a pretty good start from the creative team, so I’m heading into the second issue expecting more of the same… Let’s see, shall we?
Review: Star Trek: Waypoint #1
By Dustin Cabeal
I know what you’re thinking. Why is Dustin reviewing another IDW title? WHY? Someone save the book, pull it from his grasp and prevent him from reviewing it. We have to save the score! He’s going to tank the score!! WHY oh cruel gods of comics would you let this man review a Star Trek book from IDW!?! WHY! JACK KIRBY!!! DITKO… THAT OTHER GUY! WHY? Which I can answer for you easily. This Star Trek book is unlike any other IDW Star Trek book they’ve done. I wish that the rest of their Star Trek books were this good, but I’ll just be happy for one and hope it bleeds into the rest.
Review: M.A.S.K.: Revolution #1
By Mike Badilla
Let me start by stating that I'm not old enough to have played with or been a part of the original M.A.S.K. In fact, I may not have ever heard of the original series had it not been for my cousin, 6 or so years older than me, that had all the toys and would let me play with them when we would come to visit. I was instantly hooked on the idea of these different guys and girls getting these cool helmets and driving these cool transforming vehicles.
