Review: Giant Days #40
By Cat Wyatt
It’s time for another issue of Giant Days! Giant Days #40 brings us, Ed Gemmell, back, finally, but naturally, there’s an adjustment period to be had. It was revealed in the last issue that Ed had been avoiding all forms of contact with Esther, under the crazy belief that this would somehow fix what happened. Let’s hope he does better this time around…

Review: Lucy Dreaming #4
By Cat Wyatt
Lucy Dreaming #4 is the second to last in the series, so naturally, there’s going to be a huge revelation in this one. So far we’ve seen Lucy delve into the dream world, as she slowly learns about this new world and ability set she has. We have yet to see a major antagonist, which means we’re likely going to meet one here.

Review: Lumberjanes #51
By Cat Wyatt
The Lumberjanes are back for issue #51, and things are about to get interesting. Who would have thought that we’d ever see a Lumberjanes plot where half the cabin spent the entire time indoors? Technically we could say they’ve all been indoors this whole time, but the rest are only barely keeping to that promise.

Review: Dodge City #4
By Sam King
Dodge City #4 is the last issue in the current series published by Boom! Box. Some things wrap up rather nicely, while other threads are still left hanging. Other aspects that I wondered about were resolved in ways I found largely unsatisfying given how much time was spent mentioning them in past issues.

Review: Giant Days #39
By Cat Wyatt
Every issue of Giant Days brings us farther and farther along in Suzie, Esther, and Daisy’s lives. In the last issue, we saw all three girls moving on and getting their own places to live – separate from each other. So it’s only natural that Giant Days #39 has them taking the next logical big leap – it’s time for a job fair.

Review: Lucy Dreaming #3
By Cat Wyatt
The third installment of Lucy Dreaming is here, bringing us past the halfway point of the series (it’s a five-part miniseries). This has been an imaginative and unique series so far, and now that we know what’s happening to Lucy and why we should be free to dig into the real plot of the story.

Review: Dodge City #3
Last issue, the Jazz Panda dodge ball team saw the return of a former teammate and a lot of drama was stirring up. This time we get more game and less emotional strife, but we see the team having good chemistry and teamwork. It is another fun issue that pushes the pacing up at a point where some adrenaline was definitely needed.

Review: Heavy Vinyl
Heavy Vinyl takes girl power, sets it in the 90's and makes a record store into a kind of vigilante headquarters. While it is not incredible at presenting a complete story by the end of the collected four issues, it excels at being cute and having a diverse cast. The diversity in the almost all girl cast pretty much just means a handful of girls with their own personalities and individual lifestyles. It is fun, but it won’t work your brain or make you believe the story can stand on its own at this point.

Review: Lumberjanes #49
By Cat Wyatt
It’s that time again! Time for a new issue of the Lumberjanes. Issue number 49 of the Lumberjanes starts off a new plot (and quest) for our lovely Lumberjanes. Thanks to the last issue, we now know how the Lumberjanes can tell what the weather will be like. Unfortunately forewarning doesn’t seem like it’s much of a help, when they’re looking at several days of rainstorms in a row. I think we all know that trying to keep that crew inside for an extended period of time would be a huge undertaking…

Review: Lucy Dreaming #2
By Cat Wyatt
Lucy Dreaming is a surreal and comical series about a young girl who learns that the dreams she has are more real than most people would like. In the last issue Lucy realized that she wasn’t actually dreaming at night, but transporting around. Here we get to see her reactions to everything she’s learned.

Review: Lumberjanes #48
By Cat Wyatt
It’s time for another Lumberjanes adventure! Some of the Lumberjanes have decided to team up and get the camp’s newsletter back up and running (which would have the added bonus of getting them a new badge). Oddly enough, our Roanoke cabin is not the forefront of this adventure, but instead, the Zodiac cabin is.

Review: Lumberjanes: Bonus Tracks
By Cat Wyatt
Fans of Lumberjanes will be thrilled to have all of the short stories and single issues (so far) all in one place; Bonus Tracks. Included are some fantastic shorts, such as Beyond Bay Leaf, Makin’ The Ghost of It, Sphinxes and Riddles and Wishes Oh My!, Faire and Square, and finally Las Estrellas Del Campo: Edicion Lumberjanes. Being that these are primarily one-shot stories, the authors and artists for these issues vary pretty dramatically. But they all contain the characters we’ve come to know and love, so I’m happy with it!

Review: Lucy Dreaming #1
By Cat Wyatt
Lucy Dreaming is a new five-part series from BOOM! Studios that’s full of colorful art and an interesting idea come to life (literally). I’ll confess I wanted to give this series a try because Lucy with all her daydreaming and her nose stuck in oddball books reminds me quite a bit of a young me. Though I doubt that’ll be the case once she’s finished going off on all of her crazy adventures.

Review: Lumberjanes #47
By Cat Wyatt
Do you think the Lumberjanes will ever get tired of their explorations and adventures? We saw in the last issue that they’re capable of getting scared (not that I blame them, ’The Voice’ is super creepy). Beyond that, I’m not sure these girls are capable of slowing down. When we last saw our campers back in issue #46, they were back in their cabins, but there’s a hitch (isn’t there always for this group?); while they had given up on their quest, their newly acquired friend did not.

Review: Backstagers Valentine’s 2018 Intermission #1
By Cat Wyatt
This special, ahem, intermission sorry, starts off on a pretty cute (or mushy, depending on how you look at it) note; there’s a whole page dedicated to pink and red roses and the adorable couple known as…wait, is there a ship name for Jory and Hunter? I don’t know this, but I feel like it’s something I should be aware of. If there isn’t one, I call dibs on naming it!

Review: Clueless: Senior Year
By Dustin Cabeal
I’ll save you from the boring “I love Clueless” to speech and just jump right into the question I asked myself the entire time I read the new graphic novel from BOOM! Box/BOOM! Studios…
“Who is this for?”
After reading the entire thing, I can confidently say… I'm clueless, and I wish that were an intended pun, but it’s just the truth.
