Review: Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #47
By Cat Wyatt
We were left at a pretty crazy cliffhanger at the end of the last issue. With Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #47, we’re finally given the resolution we’ve been looking for the last couple of weeks. Last we saw Arkillo had arrived just in the nick of time to prevent Guy from doing something horrible, Hammond had taken away Hal’s memories, and John was making preparations for the next move against the Darkstars. So yeah, needless to say, there’s a lot going on here.

Review: Green Lanterns #49
By Cat Wyatt
Green Lanterns #49 concludes the On the Run plot that has been going for the last couple of issues. Here we’ll finally get to learn why Jessica Cruz was on the run and how exactly everything ended up happening in the first place. There are still plenty of questions to be answered, but you know how it is.

Review: Batwoman #16
By Cat Wyatt
Issue #16 of Batwoman brings us the finale in the Fall of the House of Kane plot, and while it has had its ups and downs let it not be said that it ended in anything other than a bang. The cover of this issue should give you a good idea of what will be happening here – Batman and Batwaman are about to fight it out.

Review: Batman #49
By Cat Wyatt
In the last issue of Batman, we saw the first half of the Best Man plot. Batman #49 continues the plot, and here we’ll have Selena coming to the rescue of Batman. This is uncommon enough to be interesting, so it’s something that many fans have likely been looking forward to.
Unsurprisingly this issue picks up almost exactly where the last one left off. The Joker is hanging around in the church he’s been messing around with, half of the place having been blown to hell, Batman is unconscious somewhere, and there’s a ton of dead bodies all over the place. Oh, and Selena has just dramatically walked in. Somehow despite all of the chaos the stained glass windows have survived – an interesting point, all things considered. Obviously, Selena probably isn’t terribly happy about what she’s walked in on. After all, her fiancé is lying unconscious or worse. You’d think this would immediately result in a fight, no room for chatting allowed. And you’d be wrong.

Review: Suicide Squad #43
By Cat Wyatt
Suicide Squad #43 continues the plot a few issues ago, where Deadshot’s daughter has been kidnapped by Kobra. Thanks to Batman, Deadshot actually has a chance to do something about it and save her, but that’s assuming that these two unlikely allies can get along long enough to get there in time…

Review: Wonder Woman #48
By Cat Wyatt
After the Wonder Woman Annual it’s hard not to get hyped about the Dark Gods plot that’s been started in Wonder Woman. This issue picks up where the last left off, only of course first we have to learn what happened on Earth once Diana was swept away.

Review: Death of Love #5
By Cat Wyatt
The conclusion for Death of Love is finally here, and it’s a bittersweet moment to be sure. The last time we saw our characters, they were facing off against Eros. Eros, as a gentle reminder is the god of love and is almost literally designed to look like Jason Mamoa in bondage. So this isn’t something you want to be missing.

Review: Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #46
By Cat Wyatt
After the big revelation in the last issue, it’s safe to say that it’s been a long two weeks waiting for Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #46 to drop. It’s finally here, and it comes with the title Darkstars Rising Part Three Death Sentence. If that title makes you worried, don’t worry, you’re not alone.

BookCon 2018
By Cat Wyatt
BookCon is heaven on earth for books and comic fans; there’s no other way to put it. It occurs once a year – immediately following BookExpo – and lasts for two days. Publishers, authors, and avid fans come from all over for this event, to make friends, find book swag, get autographs, and have a fantastic time.

Review: Wonder Woman Annual #2
By Cat Wyatt
It’s time for Wonder Woman Annual #2. It’s part of the Dark Gods plot that has been going on, but it’s individually titled to Save the Star Sapphires. Last we saw in the main continuity Wonder Woman was about to begin battling the Dark Gods that arrived when suddenly she was pulled away by the Star Sapphires. This isn’t like them, to pull her away from a battle for no reason. So likely they desperately need her help.

Review: Prism Stalker #4
By Cat Wyatt
Prism Stalker #4 is here, and Vep is continuing on her journey and training to try and fit into the new world she’s been brought to. In the last issue, a new sort of battle practice was thrown at her, and things did not go well. We already know that there’s no room in this academy for slackers, so Vep must succeed if she wants to continue to live here.

Review: Giant Days #39
By Cat Wyatt
Every issue of Giant Days brings us farther and farther along in Suzie, Esther, and Daisy’s lives. In the last issue, we saw all three girls moving on and getting their own places to live – separate from each other. So it’s only natural that Giant Days #39 has them taking the next logical big leap – it’s time for a job fair.

Review: Portal Bound #3
By Cat Wyatt
Issue #3 or Portal Bound is titled Riley Questionable Judgment, and based on what little we know of each of the characters this seems like a very fitting title. The last we saw of our cast they were being attacked by a mercenary and his hounds, only to reveal that he was the alternate for Brett. Talk about a coincidence, right?

Review: Scales and Scoundrels #10
By Cat Wyatt
It’s likely that at some point during the last nine issues of Scales + Scoundrels you found yourself wondering about Luv, her history, and how she ended up being a dragon without a hoard. Issue #10 of Scales + Scoundrels deviates from the storytelling style of the last few issues just long enough to give us some long-awaited answers.

Review: Green Lanterns #48
By Cat Wyatt
With the way things have been going for Jess lately, it’s no surprise that fans have been anxiously waiting for Green Lanterns #48. This issue is titled Rebel Run and it’s a disturbingly accurate title for this issue. As you can clearly see on the cover, Hal has arrived and is looking to arrest none other than Jessica Cruz. We can only guess as to why…perhaps it has something to do with his wanting to take her ring in the last issue?

Review: Batman #48
By Cat Wyatt
It’s almost time for the wedding, so naturally many of the issues being released around this time are running off of that theme. Batman #48 is titled the Best Man, but in truth, it’s a pretty warped idea of the concept. It looks like it’s going to be a multi-issue story though so that things could get pretty interesting here.

Review: Fun.com’s DC Wonder Woman Canvas Cargo Womens Jacket
By Cat Wyatt
It’s not every day you come across an outfit that’s both well-made and nerdy. Granted, this is thankfully becoming a more frequent event, but it’s still rare enough that it’s worth celebrating when it happens. Fun.com has a really fun but nerdy selection of clothes.

Review: Green Lanterns Annual
By Cat Wyatt
Green Lanterns Annual is an interesting issue, to say the least. The Lost Lantern is the first time in a long time that we’ve seen Simon, Jess, Hal, and Jon Stewart all working together for any length of time. This should be pretty exciting for those fans that have been hoping to see more interactions between our Green Lantern groups.

Review: Barrier #5
By Cat Wyatt
The final issue of Barrier is here, and with it will likely be a bittersweet ending. Brian K. Vaughan isn’t exactly known for his happy endings, so this is something to keep in mind as we explore Barrier #5 today. The last time we saw Liddy and Oscar they were trapped on an alien planet, but rather than letting that fact defeat them they had stepped up and started fighting. Here’s hoping that fight ends up taking them somewhere good.

Review: Heavenly Blues #6
By Cat Wyatt
This may be hard to believe, but it’s time for the last issue of Heavenly Blues. It’s been clear for a while now that there’s more going on with this scheme than meets the eyes, so it should be interesting to see how their grand heist plan actually pans out. Here’s hoping everything works out for our group of unlikely protagonists.
