Review: Dollface #5
By Levi Remington
My first foray into Action Lab Comics began with Dollface, a book that I only started reading very recently. Catching up with the series has been a particularly shallow type of fun. It's an astoundingly easy read (it's almost more tiring to not read the book) and the art is wonderfully stylish, but its nonstop adherence to stereotypical cheesecake and predictably juvenile humor kept the story from reaching any noteworthy heights.

Review: Dollface #4
By Dustin Cabeal
Dollface #4 is a pretty straightforward issue as it wraps up the conclusion of the first arc. Unfortunately, there’s nothing too surprising about it. As we saw in the last issue, Janey was plotting to kill them all, to begin with, and so they throw down once again. No backstory business, nothing.

Review: DollFace #3
By Dustin Cabeal
I’ll say this; I’m glad we know what happened to Ivan. That is to say; we learn what happened to Ivan’s body in this issue as our trio continue telling their story to Janey Belle aka Zombie Tramp. I’ll be honest; I don’t remember why they’re working together anymore. I know it’s about the book… but it escapes me as to why.

Review: Dollface #2
By Dustin Cabeal
I’m way late on reviewing this, but I didn’t want it to slip by before the next issue. One because I enjoy it and two because it’s pretty different than a lot of other comics out there right now. A big thing for me is that even though this is a “hunter” comic book, it’s not annoying or repetitive like those stories tend to be. The fact that two issues into this series and we’re still revealing how our trio came to be and why they ran into Janey from Zombie Tramp have all yet to be revealed.

Review: Dollface #1
By Dustin Cabeal
I’ve been waiting to read Dollface since supporting the Kickstarter. Having gotten my print copies and my digital I could have reviewed it early but had too much going on. I’m a big fan of Dan Mendoza’s. Every since discovering the first volume of Zombie Tramp at Long Beach Comic Expo, I have followed his work. Needless to say, I was excited about a new series from him, especially with him illustrating it.

DollFace is Action Lab's Most Successful Series Launch
By Dustin Cabeal
I'm not too surprised. Danger Zone, an imprint of Action Lab, has shown that you can do cheesecake in comics still as long as you actually have a story that's not just boobs on the page. I actually just got my Kickstarter copy of this issue and it looks great. I'm going to crack it open after this post and you can beat on an early review.

Dollface Arrives At Danger Zone
By Dustin Cabeal
When I wrote this amazing piece about the Kickstarter I had a feeling, it would wind up at Danger Zone, an imprint of Action Lab Entertainment. I actually backed the project, so hopefully, I'll read it before it's released. Either way, it's Dan Mendoza... and I love his comics.
