GEOFF JOHNS ANNOUNCES STARGIRL SERIES FOR DC UNIVERSE SERVICE

Press Release

Geoff Johns delighted fans at his Spotlight panel Thursday at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2018 with the news that he is writing and executive producing STARGIRL for the DC Universe digital subscription service. Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will also executive produce. The original series is the sixth for the brand-new service and focuses on the character that started Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, lovingly inspired by his late sister who was killed in a 1996 plane explosion.

027 - I saved this one for a little later in the day because I kind of go off on a comic. It's story time as I open up a little about my life, but it's definitely not what you think. It's about cats. My cats. You enjoy that. On the comic side, it's quick and dirty this week so check it out!

Comic Books covered in this episode:

  • Doomsday Clock #3
  • The Wild Storm #11
  • Gears of War #1

Take that Victory Gin! Yeah… fuck you and your cheap bottle that breaks at the most believable spot! Who drinks gin? People? I know people that drink gin! Why the fuck is that a cover! When is this comic going to do something? Huh? What’s that lady’s name? Why can’t I remember it? Also, I swear to fucking god if the Joker ends up being their son I’m going to go down to DC’s office and shit in their lobby!

Review: Doomsday Clock #2

By Dustin Cabeal

It’s likely that Doomsday Clock will go down as the greatest waste of Gary Frank’s talents. I pop for the artwork for sure, but this story is so incredibly dull. I 100% stand by everything I said in my first review of the series. None of that has changed. This is just Geoff Johns making sure he’s the one that gets to play in the Watchmen world before anyone else can. I’m sure next year we’ll see plenty of the characters as they flood the DCU… or maybe not.

Review: Doomsday Clock #1

I thought long and hard about this book after reading it. By no means am I one of these comic readers that view Watchmen as some untouchable bible of comic books. I read it. I could see a lot of the brilliance of it, which I mostly credit to the artwork. I’ve never read or cared about the prequel stories nor did I find it particularly interesting that the world of Watchmen was being injected into the DCU. If Watchmen is the DC Comics bible, then Doomsday Clock is the new testament.
