Review: Blood Brothers: Hermanos de Sangre #1

Since starting Comic Bastards, I have read more comics than I will ever remember in my life. Things tend to fall into categories, and I’m not referring to drama, comedy, superhero. Instead, it’s things like, an event happens, and everyone has superpowers. Which is where I would place Blood Brothers. This is by no means a bad thing, and it’s often a genre I enjoy because the only way the story is successful is by having interesting characters. Review: Helena Crash #4

By Jonathan Edwards

I find it funny that even though this issue literally says "end" on the last page, signifying that this is the last issue in this limited series, some sources do still list this as "4 of 5." That being said, this is indeed the last issue (at least until they go and make and sequel series, that is). The three previous issues were all a fast and fun ride, and this one keeps right in line with that all the way up to an ending that ties everything up quite nicely. Honestly, as easy as it would be for Helena's story to be followed up upon, a part of me hopes they just leave it at the way it ends here.

Back when Helena Crash #1 came out, I seem to recall it being listed as the first of five issues. It appears that, somewhere along the line, that changed, and now it's only a four-issue limited series. Honestly, it's a bit disappointing, because after this one, I want more that just one final issue. The charm of Helena Crash has slowly but surely won me over. Not that it was met with much, if any, resistance along the way. It's a good book with an interesting enough premise and a world comprised of colorful characters (both literally and metaphorically). It may be a relatively quick read, but it's a solid good time too.
