Review: Deathstroke: The Terminator #1-8 (2026)

As comic readers, I think there are always characters that people want to write or draw more than other characters. There is something about them that inspires the imagination—be it a story element or background piece that entices the mind to daydream about the endless possibilities with that particular character. Deathstroke is one of those characters for me. This particular volume of his titular series really digs into his long and rich backstory: Deathstroke’s creation of the League of Assassins, his wife, his children, his extensive training, and his abilities. It puts all the complicated pieces together in a cohesive, understandable package for new readers while also exciting longtime readers. It’s a series that reminds everyone what makes a comic great and why nothing else can replace it.

Movie series [Part 1] Made in Abyss: Awakening Mystery” theatrical release on October 23rd!

With a total of over 22 million copies in publication, “Made in Abyss” is an immensely popular fantasy manga that portrays an irredeemable mix of beauty and cruelty, drawn by the famous mangaka, Akihito Tsukushi.

On October 23rd (Fri), in commemoration of the theatrical release of “Movie series [Part 1] Made in Abyss: Awakening Mystery”, the 2nd key visual has been revealed! This visual depicts new characters who make their first appearance in this series: the White Whistle “Sovereign of Mystery”, Srajo, leading her cave raiding team, “The Curse Fleet / Hail Hex.”

Additionally, the production of the movie series [Part 2] has also been confirmed! Please look forward to further updates.

In conjunction with the theatrical release, the additional cast information has been announced! Srajo will be voiced by Nana Mizuki, Nishagora by Akeno Watanabe, Yataramar by Shunsuke Takeuchi, Sherumi by Nao Toyama, and Menae by Yume Miyamoto! Information on these characters have also been released.

Review: Motor Crush #6

I read the first story arc of Motor Crush and liked it well enough. It wasn't anything ground breaking, but it was fun, stylish, and had a decent enough dose of intrigue. Plus, it left off on a pretty big cliff hanger. So let me say up front, this issue does not resolve that. In fact, it does the opposite. Motor Crush #6 is a prequel issue focusing on Sully while Domino's still a child. It also happens to touch on how Sully lost his leg and the rise of Crush in Nova Honda. All in all, it feels more like a standalone story than the beginning of a new arc. And though it does do a pretty good job of showcasing Sully's character, it does feel somewhat at the cost of Domino losing some of her own agency.

Now, while I find nothing grotesquely wrong with this verdict, I find myself more-and-more at a bypass with the other critics. I picked up Transdimensional having no prior knowledge of the subject. Not even the Kickstarter description. If I had, I probably would have skipped it. I am probably one of five comics fans that don't get into sci-fi horror. The Kickstarter describes the comic as being a sci-fi horror in the same family as Alien and The Abyss. I’ve seen Alien maybe (just the one - sad face from you probably), not The Abyss. I wasn’t the proper audience for this comic. However, if I was into this type of story, I could see its appeal.
