Review: Deathstroke: The Terminator #1-8 (2026)
Review: Deathstroke: The Terminator #1-8 (2026)

By Dustin Cabeal

As comic readers, I think there are always characters that people want to write or draw more than other characters. There is something about them that inspires the imagination—be it a story element or background piece that entices the mind to daydream about the endless possibilities with that particular character. Deathstroke is one of those characters for me. This particular volume of his titular series really digs into his long and rich backstory: Deathstroke’s creation of the League of Assassins, his wife, his children, his extensive training, and his abilities. It puts all the complicated pieces together in a cohesive, understandable package for new readers while also exciting longtime readers. It’s a series that reminds everyone what makes a comic great and why nothing else can replace it.

Let’s Anime 248 - The Worst Detectives

Listen on Spotify

Welcome, welcome! We have a new theme song made by AI today. And yes, I agree, people should make music and be paid for it, but this is a free podcast and if I could pay for this song to be made by real people I would. Are you a real person that wants to cover the song? Go ahead!

Otherwise, Lindsay manages to have a theme of detectives and three-timers, not even sure how she did that. She covers The Dinner Table Detective and SHOSHIMIN: How to Become Ordinary. And Dustin covers I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! and The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom.

Review: Transdimensional #1
Review: Transdimensional #1

By Justin McCarty

I picked up Transdimensional having no prior knowledge of the subject. Not even the Kickstarter description. If I had, I probably would have skipped it. I am probably one of five comics fans that don't get into sci-fi horror. The Kickstarter describes the comic as being a sci-fi horror in the same family as Alien and The Abyss. I’ve seen Alien maybe (just the one - sad face from you probably), not The Abyss. I wasn’t the proper audience for this comic. However, if I was into this type of story, I could see its appeal.
