030 - Plenty of love in the air on this podcast, but only because I forgot to close the window! No idea what that means, I'm just doing the obligatory acknowledgment of Valentines. I'll do the same next month for St. Drunk People's Day. I cover a lot of comics on the show today. All but two of them released today. If you don't want the advanced reviews spoiled for you, stop listening after I talk about Sideways. Look, I know that not everyone has heard or read stories from the Bible, but if you have, even the basic outline of a verse… then Judas is a boring read. There is no secret history being added, just more character development for Judas… and not much.

Review: Judas #2

If I had only two words to describe Judas, it would be “Forced Drama.” If I had more than two words, which I do, it would probably be: Judas and Lucifer, shooting the shit in hell. The concerning thing about this comic is that we’re halfway through it and so far the only thing that’s happened is a condensed retelling of Judas’ story and Lucifer’s story. I sure as hell hope that the condensed retellings are somehow important to their character development in the next two issues because otherwise it was a waste of time and will likely be the sinking point of this mini-series.

Review: Judas #1

I’m sure there will be a lot of dumb controversy around this book, but it won’t come from me. I only care about the comic itself and what the story and art are doing to tell that story. That said, I found this first issue of Judas to be gorgeous looking, but also an absolute bore.
