Review: Deathstroke: The Terminator #1-8 (2026)
Review: Deathstroke: The Terminator #1-8 (2026)

By Dustin Cabeal

As comic readers, I think there are always characters that people want to write or draw more than other characters. There is something about them that inspires the imagination—be it a story element or background piece that entices the mind to daydream about the endless possibilities with that particular character. Deathstroke is one of those characters for me. This particular volume of his titular series really digs into his long and rich backstory: Deathstroke’s creation of the League of Assassins, his wife, his children, his extensive training, and his abilities. It puts all the complicated pieces together in a cohesive, understandable package for new readers while also exciting longtime readers. It’s a series that reminds everyone what makes a comic great and why nothing else can replace it.

Review: White Ash #2

By Oliver Gerlach

It’s not often that I get to review the second issue of something; usually, I can’t say more than “a promising start,” or something like that. Seeing a series continue and getting to comment on whether or not it lives up to that potential is something of a rarity in the world of indie comics review. White Ash #1 was one of those books; I liked it, but had concerns about certain aspects and wasn’t sure it would address them. Fortunately, White Ash #2 very much fixes the flaws of the first issue. Just note that this is a spoiler-free review; I’m not going to talk about anything more specific and plot-relevant than general tone and concepts.

Review: Transdimensional #1
Review: Transdimensional #1

By Justin McCarty

I picked up Transdimensional having no prior knowledge of the subject. Not even the Kickstarter description. If I had, I probably would have skipped it. I am probably one of five comics fans that don't get into sci-fi horror. The Kickstarter describes the comic as being a sci-fi horror in the same family as Alien and The Abyss. I’ve seen Alien maybe (just the one - sad face from you probably), not The Abyss. I wasn’t the proper audience for this comic. However, if I was into this type of story, I could see its appeal.
