Mini-Reviews: Week of 12/7/16

By Robert Ramos

While Papa Bastard is partying out of the country, someone needed to fill his shoes around here and boy howdy does he have some big feet. Joking aside, Dustin really is not available and comics needed to be reviewed: Enter me. This worked well for him and since I really suck at going into tons of detail on anything, this is right up my alley. Let’s hope you enjoy this round of Mini-Reviews!

Review: Ninjak #22

By Robert Ramos

First and foremost, this is my very first comic review. I’ve been in and out of the comic scene for a good number of months due to the lack of quality comics being produced. That’s not to say that I don’t keep up with anything, but the number of things I truly follow has dwindled substantially. Nevertheless, here I am and what a doozy I have for you with Ninjak #22.

Second Season of Kekkai Sensen Slated for 2017

By Robert Ramos

Looks like 2017 is going to be a hell of a year for sequels. One-Punch Man, Code Geass, Attack on Titan (GROSS), and even Gintama are all getting new seasons. Added to that bunch is Kekkai Sensen, or Blood Blockade Battlefront as most of you might know it as. Along with the new name of Kekkai Sensen & BEYOND, the show will also be getting a new director as well as a new person in charge of the script.

Review: Mobile Police Patlabor Reboot

By Robert Ramos

Dustin and I once had a brief discussion on the actual pronunciation of "Patlabor." Of course, I was ridiculed for how I knew it was pronounced but that didn't stop me from trying to prove him wrong. Well, thanks to this seven minute reboot, I can prove that I am in fact correct. Glorious.

Spirited Away Could Be Coming To A Theater Near You!

By Robert Ramos

So...I'm probably going to get so much shit by people on this site and off, but I do not care for Hayao Miyazaki or any of the film's he's directed. Just never been a fan of the character designs or story concepts from his movies, regardless of the rich storytelling they may provide. Whatever. If you're a fan of either Miyazaki or Spirited Away, and if it's available in your area, you should definitely check this out! Dubbed to be shown on December 4 while subbed on December 5.

Trailer Time: Fullmetal Alchemist - Live-Action

By Robert Ramos

Well, what do we have here? This trailer of the live-action adaption of Fullmetal Alchemist is news to me so I figured I'd share it with you guys. I think it looks great and I'll definitely check it out whenever the opportunity presents itself. And hey, no use of a shitty cover song here (looking at you, Ghost in the Shell).

Review: ClassicaLoid E.04

By Robert Ramos

You guys want in on a little secret? I lied about quitting this show if nothing exciting happened within the first five minutes of episode 3. I couldn’t stop watching and low and behold, nothing happened but Musik. Episode 4 came along and we’ve finally caught a glimpse of who the hell these Classicaloids might be and where they came from. Even if was for less than a minute, it gave me hope that we’ll soon have some sort of development and reason to keep watching.

Review: ClassicaLoid E.02

By Robert Ramos

So I’m here again, reviewing another episode of ClassicaLoid, and I still don’t have any idea what I’m watching. Is this simply a comedy anime with a shit ton of gags? Is there eventually going to be a story/plot? If there is, will it be worth a shit? Two episodes in and I should not be feeling this way at all.

REVIEW: KEIJO!!!!!!!! E.02

By Robert Ramos

What would a sports anime be without vigorous training, am I right? I’m talking about training so hard that you’re going to puke or being so tired that you’re unable to function. Well, in this episode of Keijo, we get all that, minus the puking.

By training, I’m talking about making figure eights with your butt, pushing a tire with your chest and/or butt, and last but not least, walking with your butt.

Review: Keijo!!!!!!!! E.01

By Robert Ramos

Let me just start off by saying that this has to be the most bizarre, over-the-top, and completely absurd anime I have ever seen. Please tell me how a sports anime about girls in bathing suits on a platform in the middle of a pool and their sole objective is to knock other girls out using strictly their boobs or butts is not ridiculous. Go ahead, leave me some comments.

Review: Drifters E.01

By Robert Ramos

It’s October and you know what that means: fall season of anime is upon us. With that comes something that I’ve read a couple chapters of and wanted to check out after hearing it was being animated. I’m talking about none other than Drifters. It’s from the creator of Hellsing so how bad could it possibly be? Well...

Review: Comical Psychosomatic Medicine

By Robert Ramos

A couple of episodes back, I (super briefly) talked about Comical Psychosomatic Medicine on the podcast. Seeing as how I haven’t written a review in a while and am being threatened by papa bastard, I figured why not just write a quick and simple little review for you guys to read and enjoy. Ok, so you probably won’t enjoy it but at least my job will be done.Let’s get something out of the way here: CPM consists of 20 episodes, each with a runtime of about 5 minutes (including opening and closing). There is no plot, no story, no character development, NADA.  What we have are two main characters, a doctor and a nurse, and their sole purpose is to educate us about psychological/mental disorders.  Any disorder you can think of, they cover: erectile dysfunction, Lolita complex, sleeping disorders, depression, etc, etc.
