Review: BPRD – Hell on Earth #123
For a comic with two giant demons duking it out, this issue felt pretty uneventful. That’s not to see that it wasn’t a fun read, just that I couldn’t recall much about what had happened once I had arrived at the last page.
Review: Itty Bitty Bunnies in Rainbow Pixie Candy Land: Saves X-Mas #1
Let’s get this out of the way early. This review won't be long because this is among the least funny things I've experienced lately.
Review: Purgatori #1
I was pretty excited about Dynamite giving Purgatori her own series again. She’s the character I remember the most from Chaos! Comics’ olden days and so her getting a huge push in the Chaos! series and then also a solo series was a nice surprise.
Review: Grimm Tales of Terror #3
For some reason, this issue of the series came just two weeks after its predecessor. The story feels like it was written in that two weeks’ time.
Review: Stray Bullets – Killers #7
Stray Bullets: Killers bucks the current trend of comics where we have to get small, well-packaged arcs that fit easily into trades.
Review: Witchfinder – The Mysteries of Unland #4
Well, well, well… this is a pretty important damn issue. In fact this issue could steal all of the thunder of the next issue because there is so much revealed here.
Review: Rise of the Magi #4
Gore pays a visit to the Troll King and offers something far more powerful than any magic in Shard: Earth weapons.
Review: Eye of Newt #4
Well I’m sad to see this one go. It’s been a hell of a ride reading this series as it’s given me a sense of thrill and anxiety like no other. Eye of Newt has very much been a reimagining of the story of King Arthur and by far the best reimagining I’ve ever read. The only problem with this issue is that it ends!
Review: The Field #4
I’ve given myself the impossible task of reviewing the final issue of The Field without spoiling it. I’m not sure how I’ll do that exactly, but let’s give it a shot.
Review: Solar: Man of the Atom #5
Phil Seleski still can’t break out of the spectral form, so he’s acting as guide to his daughter, Erica. She’s been infused with the Power of the Atom.
Review: TMNT - Turtles in Time #4
I will be honest from the get-go and confirm that I was pretty harsh when I last reviewed Turtles in Time. Before even opening the comic, I wanted to come in with an open mind of where the Turtles were taking us this time.
Review: Trees #5
Could this series never end please? I’m serious, I can’t get enough of this book and every time it ends it feels too soon. If I didn’t have an exact page count to keep track of I would swear they’re getting shorter, but in reality I believe I’m reading it faster with each issue.
Review: Supreme Blue Rose #3
Supreme Blue Rose is not a comic you may easily enjoy. That’s not to say that it isn’t an enjoyable book - it damn well is - it’s just not that “easy,” at least in the conventional sense, to understand. And that’s just the way I like it.
Review: Translucid #6
And here we are six months later, finishing up Translucid together, becoming the audience we were always meant to be. It’s been a bumpy ride, but in the end, it was all worth it.
Review: Unity #11
The issues of Unity that have tied into Armor Hunters have been really good. In a lot of ways they’ve continued the story or just added to the overall event.
Review: The Wicked + The Divine #4
This month’s issue of The Wicked + The Divine was more of a return to the classic Gillen McKelvie Wilson synchronicity of Phonogram, and their collaboration really shines for it.
Review: Wonderland #27
As I have been reviewing Grimm Fairy Tales the last couple of months, I thought I'd jump in on this arc as well. I am new to the Wonderland series, but I've seen it around a lot and there's some pretty big hype about it too.
Review: Meka
J.D. Morvan and Bengal are back with another fresh arrival to North America. That’s right Magnetic Press has swooped up another story from these strong collaborators. I have to say it’s been a great year for comics since Magnetic Press’ debut.
Review: The Bionic Woman - Season 4 #1
Who doesn’t love Bionic Woman? If you don’t, I will go against every mother’s advice and judge you. I will judge you and stereotype your personality to be a prude and coward. For all of those who love Bionic Woman, which should be everyone, Dynamite has brought back our favorite blonde.
Review: Jim Henson’s Storyteller: Witches #1
Jim Henson’s Storyteller series made an impact on me with its interpretations of Greek Mythologies. While I did not get the opportunity to see the other series, the quality of the presentation made the stories unforgettable.
