Vince Brusio's Pussycats is back with a new two-issue mini-series that will ship in March of this year. As you might have already noticed the variant covers for this series feature real models dressed as the characters from the comic and were quite popular among readers. Interestingly enough, there's going to be a wider range of covers this time around as "Store Safe" covers have been added making it easier for retailers to display the book out in the open.

Kodansha Comics kicks off 2017 with the digital debut on January 24th of Yoshitoki Oima’s newest manga serial, the spiritual fantasy To Your Eternity. Following the critically acclaimed A Silent Voice—which was nominated for an Eisner and named one of 2016’s “Great Graphic Novels for Teens” by the American Library Association—Oima goes in a completely new direction with this compelling tale of an abandoned native boy journeying alone in the frozen north with only a mysterious wolf for a companion.

I think now that Chew is over everyone's going to be a little more interested in what John Layman is up to, but I'll admit that I didn't see him doing a series with Sam Kieth as one of his next projects. There's a quote from Layman about their new series Eleanor & The Egret, and it sounds crazy, but the type of crazy that makes you want to pick it up first thing on April 5th.

Uh... why are we watching Batman shave? How is this interesting? It didn't convince me to plop down my hard earned money for this film, that's for sure. Also, "Three S's" refers to shit, shower and shave! You probably learned more with that than the clip.

As somewhat of a serial dater myself, I was very excited to read Love Addict: Confessions of a Serial Dater. I was looking for some insights into the various experiences I’ve had, and I was also looking forward to reading about the different affairs that someone else has had. I’m a fan of both slice-of-life and memoir comics, and I was hoping for a little something of both with this work. I certainly found those things, but I also found a comic rife with clichés and stories that I have already heard before, that have been told in so many ways they have entered the public consciousness. I found judgement and a lack of true introspection that might have turned that judgement around and led our narrator to some kind of real awakening instead of the half-hearted “maybe this is bad for me” that we get at the end of the book. There is no concern at all for the women that he has been dating; they all merely serve as some kind of reflection of what the narrator is going through.

When I found there was going to be a TV series of Little Witch Academia, I got fairly excited. I was pretty pleased with how the “movie” version turned out, even if was only 30 minutes and left a lot of openness. So does this TV adaptation hold true? Let’s find out, shall we!

This show is one that I will definitely not tire of watching. The explanation of how certain characters connect to the protagonists and their role in the preservation and development of rakugo is sound. I thought how minor character, Higuchi Eisuke from season one, who Yakumo - in his younger years - briefly encountered while on tour with his master, reappeared this season as a supporting character, was brilliant.
