Review: My Hero Academia vol. 8

My Hero Academia is a strange creature. On a personal level, I enjoy this story and prefer the manga to the anime. It’s a very interesting take on the superhero genre, and it’s surprising that it’s not more popular with American comic readers as it fits the market perfectly. The strange thing about this story is that I don’t rush to read it like I do so many others. Perhaps it’s a slump right now where it’s missing that spark of interest, but while I read it and enjoy it, I’m not craving it.

As soon as I found out that Boku no Hero Academia had received a second season I have been patiently awaiting its return. I was ecstatic to learn that one of the most heartrending anime series was coming back; I can’t remember how many times I cried while watching this series. A week ago, I was contemplating watching the entire series again in preparation for the second cour. However, episode 0 summed up the entire first season well enough that I did not have to. After viewing several trailers of the upcoming season, I knew what to expect, but episode one was not as exciting as I hoped it would be.

Review: My Hero Academia vol. 7

While I didn’t enjoy the anime adaptation of My Hero Academia all that much, I do still really enjoy the manga. It is by far one of the best superhero comics out there in either the Japanese or American market. For those familiar with Marvel Comics, think of Avenger’s Academy when you first heard about it, not when you read it, and expand that idea. The main character Midoriya is enrolled at UA which is a superhero academy.
