CBMFP 193 (Part 1): If You're Catching Frank Miller's Drift
Ladies and Gentlemen... we've got a treat for you today. Rather than doing our usual Comic Con coverage in which we talk about too much news and pretend to cover a few titles we've actually split the show in two! That way if you have no desire to hear us talk about news or would rather just hear us talk about news there's an episode for that. You'll have to turn in for the second half to see what books we cover. As for news... there's a plenty. Trailers are discussed. Lots of Batman happens. DC news happens. Turtle News. G.I. Joe and Street Fighter. There's something for most everyone.
Part 1
Part 2
Monster & Wine: Episode 45 - 5 Dollar Footlong
The Women's World Cup has finally come to a close and M&W couldn't be happier with the result, even if they are in fact sad that the event is over. The final, as well as the the 3rd place match between Germany and England are discussed. Needless to say, it's good to be an American. The duo also do a fairly lengthy dissection of the 3rd season of, "Orange is the New Black." Monster finally saw some movies...

The final, as well as the the 3rd place match between Germany and England are discussed. Needless to say, it's good to be an American. The duo also do a fairly lengthy dissection of the 3rd season of, "Orange is the New Black." Monster finally saw some movies, not necessarily new, but new to him. Tons of wacky news is discussed and you better bring an extra tall glass of lemonade, because this puppy is coming in at over 2 hours! You're welcome.
CBMFP 192: Choppy Waters
First off, sorry this was late! Holiday weekend and then that thing called life delayed what was otherwise an on time podcast! Second, big apology to Steve who had to put up with me interrupting him over and over on this episode of the podcast while he filled in for absent Kevin! My goodness I'm unbearable. As for the actual episode there's a lengthy story about a bum and the Anime Expo followed up by a very lengthy look at Marvel and Image's newly announced titles. Strap in folks, strap in. Books briefly covered on this episode:
- Star Trek/Green Lantern #1
- Gunsuits #1

Monster & Wine: Episode 44 - Star Spangled Fun
Happy 4th of July everyone! The timing worked out beautifully for Monster and Wine to bring you a new episode on this most glorious of days. Naturally, the Women's World Cup is discussed because two major games took place and boy were they chock full of drama! Happy 4th of July everyone! The timing worked out beautifully for Monster and Wine to bring you a new episode on this most glorious of days. Naturally, the Women's World Cup is discussed because two major games took place and boy were they chock full of drama! Being fans of the ol' non sequitur, the topic of movies is brought up, and more specifically, the rating system for movies in the USA and how it's basically broken. The duo discuss Donald Trump, his controversial comments on immigration and race relations in general. Wine brings us a couple of personal anecdotes and Monster reads some wacky headlines!
CBMFP 191: Add Another Hulk, Add Another Hulk
News is terrible today, by that I mean our picks to talk about so get a helmet on for this shit. Hulk's got a new book and it looks totally awesome right? RIGHT! RIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!! Anyway, Marvel's being sued over the design of Iron Man's movie armor... that'll make sense later. Batman v. Superman has found their Thomas Wayne and some other shit happens. Books covered on this episode:

Monster & Wine: Episode 43 - One For The History Books
No silly goose, that title doesn't refer to this episode being particularly monumental. It has more to do with the fact that the U.S. Supreme court ruled that marriage equality is now a constitutional right. Now THAT is monumental. Your favorite duo discuss. Also on the agenda, Monster...
No silly goose, that title doesn't refer to this episode being particularly monumental. It has more to do with the fact that the U.S. Supreme court ruled that marriage equality is now a constitutional right. Now THAT is monumental. Your favorite duo discuss. Also on the agenda, Monster, die-hard Howard Stern fan that he is, realizes he's had plenty of time to form a list of grievances against his favorite radio personality. He still loves Howard though. M&W do a quick recap on the FIFA Women's World Cup, as well as their picks for the quarter-finals. It's almost over people! Sad face! Monster spouts out some wacky news to wrap things up.
CBMFP 190: Thorsday
Exciting news today... we have a new ending! I know it's been forever and a day so I thought I would lead with that so that people would actually listen to the great work that Erin put into making it. For actual news covered on the episode we're back on the Fantastic Four train and it's stopping at the Denny's station... fun! Sony has some Spider-Demands and they reveal how Hollywood really runs and also how out of touch with society they are. Finally I went to this year's E3 so I'm going to talk about video games since I made twelve-year-old me proud by finally going to E3. Books covered on this episode:
- Thors #1
- Lesbian Zombies From Outer Space #2
- The Ghost Fleet (no spoilers, but we do talk about the series as a whole)

Monster & Wine: Episode 42 - Here We Go Again
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what the name of this episode is referring to. M&W can't help but address the elephant in the room and give their thoughts about the shooting in Charleston, South Carolina. However, all is not heavy as Monster talks about a video game remake and how his thoughts on it spawned a Facebook pissing contest. The gruesome twosome do a quick rundown of...

M&W can't help but address the elephant in the room and give their thoughts about the shooting in Charleston, South Carolina. However, all is not heavy as Monster talks about a video game remake and how his thoughts on it spawned a Facebook pissing contest. The gruesome twosome do a quick rundown of the Women's World Cup matches that took place within the last week and give their picks on who will win the round of 16. Wacky news from around the country bring things to a hilarious, yet quite disturbing, close.
CBMFP 189: Frank "White Castle" Castle
If you can't guess from the title we're going to talk about the Punisher/Daredevil Season 2 news. Constantine one more time? Yeah we'll give it a quick hit. Actual comic news is addressed with last month's sales charts which you can find here. And Steve let's us know about a college kid that took a graphic novel class and wants to ban half the material... some people's kids right? Lots of books covered this episode:

- Midnighter #1
- Ghostbuster: Get Real #1
- We Can Never Go Home #3
- Starve #1
- Rachel Rising #34

Monster & Wine: Episode 41 - I Think I'm Black
The FIFA Women's World Cup is still going on strong and Monster and Wine do a quick recap of the matches and how well they did with their predictions. Monster gets nice and heated while recounting his tale of misery in dealing with U-haul and the profanity doth fly! Parents, lock your kids away for this one. Wine understands terrible customer service all-too-well and provides a tale of woe that shows...

Monster gets nice and heated while recounting his tale of misery in dealing with U-haul and the profanity doth fly! Parents, lock your kids away for this one. Wine understands terrible customer service all-too-well and provides a tale of woe that shows up internet shopping still hasn't been perfected. Lastly, the duo converse about a women by the name of Rachel Dolezal who thinks she's black but might very well be white. Who are we to say? Gadzooks!
CBMFP 188: Look At The Size Of That Hat
We had some news we missed from last week including that Grumpy Cat comic book that's coming from Dynamite. Zenescope is making some statues that may or may not be terrible... come one we know the answer to that. Did you hear about the All-New, All Different Marvel? We're going to try to talk that not reboot, reboot that they're doing for the billionth time. Lastly Aquaman gets a director. Books covered on this episode:

Monster & Wine: Episode 40 - You're A Champ
Monster and Wine are clearly champions in life, as are you dear listener. However, The duo have a lot to say about the USA Men's National soccer team and their exciting, and historic, victory over the Netherlands. That discussion leads nicely into the Women's 2015 World Cup, with M & W giving their predictions on...

However, The duo have a lot to say about the USA Men's National soccer team and their exciting, and historic, victory over the Netherlands. That discussion leads nicely into the Women's 2015 World Cup, with M & W giving their predictions on who will win which match. Say that three times fast! TV shows are discussed; some old, some new, some good, some bad. Finally, with their fingers on the pulse of all things topical, you knew these two couldn't leave Caitlyn Jenner out of the mix.
CBMFP 187: Sixteen Boners
Well it's another episode with hardly any comic talk, but we cover plenty of movies that are in realm of nerd and some TV shit probably. TMNT 2, yeah we're going to talk about it, but we'll never watch it... ever. Lumberjanes are heading to the big screen along with Johnny Quest! Million Mom's takes on Fox's Lucifer... which is a confusing statement because I have to actually clarify that it's the upcoming TV show we're talking about. There is some comic talk because DC is introducing half page ads in the middle of their comics kind of like how comics used to do that all the time... but people ain't happy! Books covered on this episode:
- Airboy #1
- Big Man Plans #3
- The Fiction #1
- They're Not Like Us #6

Monster & Wine: Episode 39 - It's In The Game
Sports! Yes indeed, this time around Monster & Wine are talking about both the pitch and the court. The introduction of women's national teams in the upcoming FIFA 16 video game has people both incredibly stoked and peculiarly pissed off. M&W fall into the former category and discuss in depth. Monster takes a back seat and lets Wine do her thing by evaluating the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers going at it in the upcoming NBA Finals. The episode is closed out with a couple of "weird" stories from around the web.

CBMFP 186: We Buried A Galactus
As Kevin said on Twitter... who the fuck knows what happened on this episode. The two of us are a bit slap happy, a little tired... out of shit to talk about... you name it on this episode. Dude Bro Massacre III kicks us off, Fantastic Four stuff happened and DC annoys everyone with their "marketing." Books covered on this episode:
- Insufferable #1
- Dirk Genty #1
- Archie vs Predator #2

Monster & Wine: Episode 38 - Feel the Fury
Monster kicks things off this week with a bit of self-reflection. To make a long story short, he realizes that he's an unintentional flake but admits to being a work-in-progress. Oh the vulnerability! He also mentions the opening of the biggest Disney store in the world, which is located in Shanghai, China. The duo then discuss...
Monster kicks things off this week with a bit of self-reflection. To make a long story short, he realizes that he's an unintentional flake but admits to being a work-in-progress. Oh the vulnerability! He also mentions the opening of the biggest Disney store in the world, which is located in Shanghai, China. The duo then discuss some of the TV shows they enjoy going off the air, either for the season or for good. We're talking David Letterman, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Modern Family, etc. Monster gives his thoughts on Mortal Kombat X after having for over a week and the show is wrapped up with a reading of Maddox's movie review of, "Mad Max: Fury Road," with Wine giving her thoughts.
Us Versus Movies: Mad Max Fury Road
It's summer blockbuster time which means that Us Versus Movies is busy, busy. Today we've got Mad Max Fury Road aka Mad Max 4 which is pretty bad ass. Kevin, Dustin and Erin will dive into the fourth film in the franchise which is returning after thirty years! If you haven't seen the film there will be spoilers, but we really encourage you to check out the film beforehand. Now let's get to the movie!

Monster & Wine: Episode 37 - What Would You Do?
After wishing Ronald Mcdonald a Happy 75th Birthday, Monster sits back and lets Wine go on a heated rant about the sports team of Washington. Wine has definitely got this topic on lock and there's a good chance you can empathize with her. The duo briefly discuss the death penalty verdict handed down to Boston marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Monster is not kind. Wine tells a tale of woe...

Wine has definitely got this topic on lock and there's a good chance you can empathize with her. The duo briefly discuss the death penalty verdict handed down to Boston marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Monster is not kind. Wine tells a tale of woe at her local laundromat and surely, dear listener, you can learn a thing or two from it. M&W wrap this episode up with a series of, "What Would You Do?", questions that are sure to either split your sides or provide food for though. Or maybe just insult and irritate you.
