Review: Rai #7

For the last few issues everything has been going according to plan in Rai. The newest Rai (because there have been others) hasn’t gone crazy and killed all the Raddies. He’s formed an alliance with Psylocke and the original Silk and is in the process of forming one with Momo and beta-Rai Izak.

Review: Hexed #7

Spoilers are one of the things that haunt the modern age of entertainment. Hell comic companies build entire publicity campaigns from spoiling storylines, so much so that it’s common place for the big two to reveal important details ahead of a release in order to boost pre-orders and subsequently sales numbers for investors. The thing I love about smaller publishers is that stories can still surprise you. As was the case with Hexed #7.

Review: Witchblade #180

So based on the cover, I am guessing Jackie Estacado, bearer of the Darkness is going to die by the end of this story arc. Should we even care? Is Witchblade still an excuse for the main character to be drawn half-naked? Is the continuity of a small creator owned “super hero” universe easier to understand then the Big Two? We will try to answer all of these questions.

Review: Shutter #9

With this current issue of Shutter, we are beginning to see a shift change in the way things are happening. Firstly, we go back. Actually, we go way back to 1889 and the Paris World’s Fair. Hidden in the shadows and away from the main sights, we see what could truly be called a wonder and an oddity called Prospero.

Review: Creepy Archives - Vol. 21

I mentioned this series in my Eerie review as one of the big three of the classic Warren horror magazines along with Vampirella. In my opinion Creepy is the superior series. Eerie always seemed to rely on overt horror; scary monsters, shocking art and slasher type stories.
