Review: Savage Dragon #202

All right, I am sick and tired of the “Malcolm gets laid a lot” story arc. I understand that writer/artist Erik Larsen is working to establish Malcolm as a young hero who is trying to figure out who he is and what he wants to be. Dealing with life issues has been a strong point with the new direction of The Savage Dragon and has been one of the things that has made it worth reading.

Review: Drifter #4

Every time I sit down to review a book I flip back through or at the very least keep the cover up in front of me. It helps me to see what it is I’m writing about. With Drifter I always end up reading the issue again. On one hand that says everything you need to know about the book that it easily sucks you in and reading it a second time always brings up something new.

Review: Groo: Friends and Foes #2

Ever since I read the first issue of Groo: Friends and Foes, I’ve been looking forward to get back into the charming adventures of him and his trusty canine companion Rufferto. This month Groo is among a friend-to an extent-in his Granny Groo.

Review: The Valiant #3

The penultimate issue of The Valiant is here, and shit is really starting to hit the proverbial fan. For all that I generally didn’t have an interest in the Valiant Universe before this series, and I’ve reviewed some titles that I’ve less-than-loved on this site, each issue of The Valiant makes me want to pick up a new title from the company, just to see what it’s all about.

Review: Robyn Hood #7

Ok so I am in love with Roberta Ingranata. Just seeing a small preview of this issue made me excited. Her art is fun. Not as stiff as Robyn Hood has been. Although I didn’t mind it, I love Ingranata’s. It flows with the comic. Each panel, especially the action scenes, move better.

Review: Rumble #3

Rumble is an intriguing comic. It mixes the reality with supernatural events to make the comic come to life. I’ll just jump right into this week’s story. I thought it lacked something. I couldn’t tell at the beginning of issue what that exactly was but then when Del and Bobby entered back into the story, I realized that I missed them.

Review: 50 Signal #1

With indie comics there are definite levels of quality. It’s undeniable. There are simply books that are better put together in terms of story and art. This is one of the biggest stigmas of indie comics because some people only stumble into the low-level area while others always find that sweet spot at the top.
