To say that this series is bad is an understatement. It went from milking cool moments from the movie and turning them into cheap jokes, to delivering a story that is so hollow and unoriginal that as a reader I no longer wanted to explore this world.

Review: King: Flash Gordon #2

Issue 2 does not live up to the promise of issue 1. The potential existed in issue 1 of a really great storyline that got cut short. This is what it got cut short for. Don’t get me wrong it’s an entirely serviceable issue. It kept me interested in the setting and the characters for another month but there’s just not a lot of meat on these bones.

Review: 2000 AD – Prog 1921

"Dark Justice" is over. As much as I praised Staples' artwork, I found this arc of Dredd, for the most part, to be disappointing. I wanted to see this arc explore more of the concepts involved with this spaceship and its society.

Review: Hellbreak #1

The first time I ever read anything by Cullen Bunn it was The Damned from Oni Press. The second time I read anything from Cullen Bunn was The Damned: Prodigal Sons and then The Sixth Gun. Hang tight I’m going somewhere with this. Since then Bunn has gone on to write a lot of comics for the big two and everyone in-between, but the place that he always feels most at home is Oni Press.

This arc is starting to reveal itself more with this issue and I’m cool with that. I absolutely loved Unity #15 and the way it focused on Ninjak. Unity #16 continues that course with nearly the same opening, but the difference being that we follow the Eternal Warrior as the trio part this time around.

To say that he likes this character is an understatement and to say that the work he’s doing with the character is “great” is also an understatement.
