Review: The Twilight Zone #12

Well that’s a wrap people. The Twilight Zone #12 closes out Dynamite's first year of the series. I won’t be saying much about this issue, but I did want to say something having started it from the beginning and now seeing it through to the end. If you were curious if all three stories were really that intertwined… well they are.

Review: Manifest Destiny #13

After a run of some lackluster issues that offered much promise and then pulled the rug out from under me, I took a little break from Manifest Destiny. I found that the continual rise up and then knock me down routine was becoming ponderous. I needed a break and I took one. I am very glad that I did.

Review: King: Mandrake the Magician #1

Historically Mandrake is little more than a hypnotist and while he is considered by some to be THE FIRST superhero I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who would recognize him. I think you’d be more likely to find him mistaken for his more blatant rip-offs successors *cough* Zatara *cough* *cough*.

Review: Fight Like A Girl #3

I biffed on reviewing the last issue of Fight Like A Girl, but it’s actually probably for the better. It probably would have amounted to me saying, “I dig this story still and the art, oh man the art is pretty great!” The fact is, it’s still pretty much all I have to say about it because not much else has changed… or has it?

Review: The October Girl #3

Okay let’s go ahead and get it out of the way… it’s been a long ass time since this book was last out. It was a launch title for MonkeyBrain Comics and I will be completely honest… it was my favorite launch title. So much so that I don’t read any of the others anymore, but I’ve been waiting for The October Girl to return.

Review: Alice Cooper #6

Alice Cooper comes from that massive groups of popular artists known as stage musicians. He was among the first, you could argue that David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust was the first, but without Alice Cooper there would be no Rob Zombie, no Marilyn Manson possibly not even KISS or the New York Dolls.

Review: Savage Dragon #202

All right, I am sick and tired of the “Malcolm gets laid a lot” story arc. I understand that writer/artist Erik Larsen is working to establish Malcolm as a young hero who is trying to figure out who he is and what he wants to be. Dealing with life issues has been a strong point with the new direction of The Savage Dragon and has been one of the things that has made it worth reading.
