Review: King: Flash Gordon #2
Issue 2 does not live up to the promise of issue 1. The potential existed in issue 1 of a really great storyline that got cut short. This is what it got cut short for. Don’t get me wrong it’s an entirely serviceable issue. It kept me interested in the setting and the characters for another month but there’s just not a lot of meat on these bones.
Review: Holy F*ck #3 (Danger Zone)
My first draft of this review had a long rant about the fact that Action Lab books continue to ship back to back and blah, blah, blah. Is that this issue’s fault? No and so I said fuck that noise and started again.
Review: Weekly Shonen Jump #15
Weekly Shonen Jump would be worth reading right now just for One Piece and Food Wars, but most of the rest of the lineup is currently killing it too.
Review: Itty Bitty Comics #5 - Grimmiss Island #1
Art Baltazar and Franco are back for another all-ages comic entitled Grimmiss Island. It’s an over-the-top and quirky tale that anyone can enjoy.
Review: Ninjak #1 (Valiant)
If you’re reading anything from Valiant then you’ve likely been looking forward to Ninjak #1. Hell I’ve been waiting for it since it was announced last year at NYCC and after talking to Matt Kindt. To say that he likes this character is an understatement and to say that the work he’s doing with the character is “great” is also an understatement.
Review: Bill & Ted's Most Triumphant Return #1
Raise your hand if you watched and loved the Bill and Ted movies. If your hand is not raised right now then you should leave this review, this book ain't for you.
Review: The Surface #1
So, I just finished recording Episode 175 of the Comic Bastards CBMFP, and I think I may have come off as a little harsh on Ales Kot and Langdon Foss’ new Image book, The Surface. Okay, maybe a lotta harsh.
Review: Altered States: Red Sonja #1
This is far worse than Altered States: Vampirella. Vampirella had a good concept that was handicapped by its short length. There’s just not a whole going on here. There’s so little going on here that there isn’t a lot to say about it.
Review: East of West #18
Goddammit. Every time I say I’m going to stop reviewing Jonathan Hickman’s Image series East of West, it pulls me back in again, like the mob. Or heroin. Indeed, it seems to know just how to tap into and rile up my addiction to great comics.
Review: Adventure Time: Marceline Gone Adrift #3
Adventure Time: Marceline Gone Adrift is becoming more and more of a Major Tom story set in (and far, far above) the Land of Ooo, and both my David Bowie half and my Adventure Time half could not be happier.
Review: Shaft #4
You know what the best Shaft story I’ve ever consumed was? I’ve seen the movies, I’m aware of the character and the genre it’s in. It’s a genre I love and has created some very compelling media.
Review: Legenderry: Vampirella #2
I like the Legenderry world but it hasn’t quite earned the cache that the Pulpy-verse has so I’m not as willing to give it legacy points just yet.
Check Out Tales from the Borderlands Episode 2 - Atlas Mugged Trailer
The wait is over because the second episode of Telltales Games' Tales from the Borderlands has returned! It's entitled "Atlas Mugged" and it looks like a hoot!
CBMFP 175: The Future Is Dumb
We've got a show for you today! Supergirl's suit was revealed last week... guess what we're going to talk about? Supergirl, but that Lex Luthor picture will make some kind of sense. Harrison Ford nearly died... get ready for tasteless jokes. We catch up on Gotham with Kevin and Steve and Dustin break down Marvel's Agents of Shield's return.
Monster & Wine: Episode 28 - WOA PIC
Back in action, but with a slight twist. We apologize for being gone for a week, but hey, sometimes the best things in life require patience. Monster spills the beans about his recent road-trip, as he recalls his journey from California to Colorado and everything in between. Wine has a new season of basketball starting and has some new kicks to prove it. 12 shows that...
The Red Ten Set To Return
In this month's Previews catalog, ComixTribe is offering the long awaited seventh issue of the ten issue maxi-series THE RED TEN by Tyler James and Cesar Feliciano, with covers by CP" Talent" Wilson (MAR151157).
Review: Black Science #12
Black Science would make for a great CW show, and I mean that as a compliment since I’m referring to Arrow era CW and not the Gossip Girl CW. This came to mind when I realized that despite its serial nature, many issues of Black Science seems like they monster of the week stories only rather than a monster each week we get to see a new dimension about every three issues rendered with immaculate detail by Matteo Scalera and colored by Moreno Disino.Black Science would make for a great CW show, and I mean that as a compliment since I’m referring to Arrow era CW and not the Gossip Girl CW. Trailer Time: World War X From Titan Comics
If you follow the site then you know there's only a few comic companies that nail the trailer in my opinion. Today we have the trailer for World War X from Titan Comics and they're one of the companies I'm referring to. Check it.
Review: Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor #9
Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor #9 was okay. I know that pretty much tells you everything you need to know, but I was very hopefully for this issue.
Review: Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor #8
There isn’t much that I can say that will be new about this story arc for Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor. I mean we’re in the meat of it and so it’s continuing on the logical path that it established in the beginning and that’s a good thing. In fact if it wasn’t then I’d have more to say.
