Hey, when I upload a new theme or uproot the site completely I like to celebrate with a cosplay posting. Not really, I just found this and couldn't resist sharing Katinka Cosplay's (photos by Photosnxs) brilliant recreation of Meiko Shiraki, the vice principal from Prison School. Which is a manga that I've reviewed (Vol. 1, Vol. 2 & 3 and Vol. 4) and also an anime that we've discussed on Super-S: Anime Podcast.

I'm all about music and comics which is something that long-time readers of the site will be annoyed by me saying for the hundredth time, but I am. Music and comics go together like PB&J. Anyway, GWAR is coming to comics lead by Matt Miner, who's books have always been a hit on the site so check this out.

What would a sports anime be without vigorous training, am I right? I’m talking about training so hard that you’re going to puke or being so tired that you’re unable to function. Well, in this episode of Keijo, we get all that, minus the puking.

By training, I’m talking about making figure eights with your butt, pushing a tire with your chest and/or butt, and last but not least, walking with your butt.

Welcome back to the CBMFP. This week we're going to breeze past a death in the comic industry and right into At&t's tentative purchase of Time Warner. Then it's on to some Fox movie news that includes Deadpool 2 and Logan.

It's a lot like Waterworld. It's a little like Tank Girl. One bit reminds me a lot of Y: The Last Man. The Chasing Arrows feels a lot like a lot of things that already exist, but unlike a lot of books read here on Bastards, here this doesn't raise my red flags. The only time clichés and allusions are crimes are when you get the sense that the writer just wanted to take credit for a story they read elsewhere or to plug holes in their writing instinctually with overly familiar shortcuts. The Chasing Arrows feels familiar but brings enough of its own ideas to the table to result in a new property worth seeing what it builds into.
