Review: Spread Vol. 1 – No Hope
Spread Vol. 1 collects the first 6 issues of the comic. When read individually month-to-month some of the elements feel a little shaky.
Review: Escape From New York #5
It's a shame Dustin couldn't keep putting up with this monthly dose of awe-full-some? comic.
Review: Bill & Ted’s Most Triumphant Return #2
I'm still baffled as to why BOOM! decided to split each book in this mini-series into two stories. Especially when the first one is written as if it is canon, yet the second is like the Saturday morning cartoon version of canon (in that it's not).
Review: Creature Cops #3
I didn't catch the first two issues of this book, so I had no idea what I was going to see inside. I heard the name before seeing the cover. I actually wondered if the cops in this were creatures. In case you haven't seen anything to do with this comic yet, they're not.
Review: The Four Points #1
The Four Points summed up in one sentence; All-female Planateers from Captain Planet, minus Heart and Captain Planet. It's fairly obvious from the cover that the women in this book control the elements, which is strange that they hide it for most of the issue. The women (or at least one of them) have other powers.
Review: Masks 2 #1
Masks 2 is the follow up to the original Masks mini-series (which I didn't read). This mini-series is expected to expand the universe from the first and be a good jumping on point for new readers Masks 2 #1(which it is).
Review: Lola XOXO: Wasteland Madam #1
Girl and boyfriend go for a walk. Boyfriend pulls out a ring and proposes. City blows up in background. Boyfriend dies from radiation poisoning, girl doesn't. World goes to shit. Girl dresses up like female Mad Max. Girl turns into a ruthless amazing killing machine.
Review: The Big Con Job #2
With this being the second of only four issues, I expected the heist to be well past the planning stages and maybe even starting it. Unfortunately this issues spends most of its time introducing two more characters into the mix, ending finally with everyone deciding they will do the heist.
Review: Cluster #3
So continues the crazy adventures of Samara Simmons. This issue is really good for a number of reasons, which I can't really reveal without spoiling it. Needless to say if you read and liked the last two, this one won't disappoint.
Review: Tomb Raider #14
Everyone aboard the crazy train. This issue is bonkers, sometimes in a good way but most often not. The issue opens well enough, showing us Lara having a nightmare then the issue devolves into one crazy thing happening after another.
Review: Zombies vs. Robots #3
This comic is bat-shit crazy. Then again what do you expect from something with the title Zombies vs Robots. But this comic isn't just robots and zombies, nope, we've got humans and in this issue something new has arrived.
Review: TMNT: New Animated Adventures #21
The first story in this issue involve Baxter Stockman and Spyder-Bytes (as seen on the two covers). The story is fairly predictable and involves a lot of the characters standing around and talking.
Review: Conan The Avenger #12
This issue marks the end of 'The Damned Horde' arc. It starts slow, due to Conan being enfeebled by the black disease. The middle of the issue gives us the showdown, some returned characters and their resolution.
Review: TMNT: Mutanimals #2
This has quickly become one of my most anticipated comics. It's only issue two and so much happens. The characters still have their own unique voices and motivations.
Review: Chew #47
I fucking love this comic (they swear in the comic, so I'm gonna swear in the review). This is by far and away my most anticipated comic. Everything in it is perfect. The universe they've created feels so surrealy real.
Review: Spread #6
Awesome. If you like mutated monsters, if you like all out carnage, if you love action then you will like this comic. I dig the art style, the bright red of the spread against stark white snow.
Review: Orphan Black #2
Well this is more like it. Last time I bemoaned the fact that, as a fan of the show, there was nothing extra in it. This time there is and the comic is so much better for it.
Review: Borderlands #7
I really don't know what to expect when I open this comic. That goes for all the elements. I don't know if the jokes are going to be funny. I don't know what the story is going to involve. I don't know what the general quality will be.
Review: Big Trouble in Little China #9
I knew it was too good to last. Any time something gets brought back from your childhood, it rarely goes well.
Review: Bill & Ted's Most Triumphant Return #1
Raise your hand if you watched and loved the Bill and Ted movies. If your hand is not raised right now then you should leave this review, this book ain't for you.
