Review: Altered States: Vampirella #1
Altered States, I guess, is the Elseworlds of the Dynamite universe. It’s good to have outlets to tell those random stories and take different approaches to characters.
Review: 2000 AD – Prog 1920
The Order and Survival Geeks were solid this week, but everything else dragged.
Review: Project Superpowers: Blackcross #1
The first six pages will hook you. You can find these pages across the internet if you just search for the preview pages (*See Below). The entire comic needs to live up to those six pages. The first six pages are simple but feel like they tell so much about this story.
Review: Imperium #2 (Valiant)
In a lot of ways I draw parallels between Imperium and G.I. Joe volume 4 #5 & #6. They are both very dense political/military action/dramas with a large cast of varied individuals. Both have a lot of military style communication and use intrigue and deception in the course of their storytelling.
Review: Feathers #3
Feathers is just straight up cute. I’m not going to lie, I totally just got into this mini-series for that reason. But really if that’s what it takes to draw somebody in than so be it! What I find especially cute is Poe.
Review: X-O Manowar #34
Last month’s Manowar was a “jumping on point”. I feel I referenced that a lot in that review and many subsequent reviews. This issue sort of makes the previous one totally irrelevant. I found far more satisfaction reading the old issues over jumping on that last issue.
Review: The Big Con Job #1
I've been super excited for The Big Con Job. the promotional material has kept popping up on my radar. Finally issue one is out and ready to read. I've never been to a comic book convention (*sob I've seen enough movies and TV shows at them) but I love heist movies. So the premise alone had me sold.
Review: 68 Jungle Jim: Guts n’ Glory
This wasn’t what I was expecting but in a good way. I was expecting a Dynamite joint taking place in the Pulpy-verse. Some kind of Dr. Manhattan super-god in the jungles of Vietnam.
Review: Nameless #2 (Image)
When Nameless came out last month, I was super charged mega hyped to see what the “new face of horror comics” would look like. Mixing in elements of intense sci-fi with the super natural…
Review: Dark Engine #5 (Image)
I’ve been a big pusher of Dark Engine since its inception for one very important reason: it’s different. That’s a trait not easy to come by, even (some might say especially) in comics. But with a unique artistic style, seemingly rendered by pulling skin tautly over wood or shale, and a voice that is boldly, refreshingly poetic in its unabashed grandstanding, this Image title rises as a true rarity; one whose singularity I simultaneously celebrate and wish there was more of in comics.
Review: Lady Killer #3
Lady Killer continues to be one of my favorite miniseries as of late with this third installment. We get to dig a bit deeper into Josie’s character and find out a little more about Peck as well.
Review: Cluster #2 (BOOM!)
I dug the first issue of Cluster. It was action packed and moved quickly. Issue two slows down but only marginally. Honestly, they couldn't keep that pace up for the whole run.
Review: Hero Cats of Stellar City #4
Aw! This has to be the most fun I have in Stellar City yet. This issue didn’t miss a beat with its high-powered action, unusual setting, and of course, the best superhero cat team ever. With a team of superheros, you deliver lots of back stories with lots of little missions in between.
Review: The White Queen #2 (of 3)
Last month I gave White Queen a score of WTF and it was worthy of that. It was terrible, I hated it. I HATED it. HATED.
Review: G.I. Joe - Vol. 4 #6
Jesus Christ will someone just shoot a laser at something already!?! Welcome back to another edition of Talking: The Comic.
Review: Conan The Avenger #11
This issue really did it for me. There is a moment in this story where Conan does something that my friend once did in a fight. It was brilliant, I've been thinking of incorporating it into a story for a while (and I still might as it played out a little differently).

Review: TMNT: Mutanimals #1
I love me some TMNT. I like mutant animal hybrids. I was however cautiously aware that this comic might suck. Spoiler, it doesn't. It works and it's awesome.

Review: Zombies vs. Robots #2
Last issue I wondered how this comic was going to work as an ongoing story. Turns out only so-so. The first story starts with the humans that were woken from cryo-sleep last issue.
