Review: Baltimore: The Witch of Harju #2
Baltimore and crew escort Sofia, the young woman who they saved from the undead monster in this first issue of this series, through the Estonian town.
Review: Emily and the Strangers: Breaking The Record #3
Emily and the Strangers: Breaking the Record concludes with an uplifting message about rock n roll and fighting the power!
Review: And Then Emily Was Gone #2
Let me just say how happy I am that I reviewed the second issue separate from the first. I’ll be honest my fear for this issue was whether or not it would be able to capture the same tone and strangeness of the first issue. It’s easy to start weird, but it’s something else to continue to be weird. Thankfully the second issue of And Then Emily Was Gone not only captured the same tone as the first issue, but it outshined it on many levels.
Review: X-O Manowar #28
After securing his first victory over the Armor but suffering three losses, Reebo continues his quest to destroy armors all over the universe. Primary, the control of the Hunters, realizes that the Armors aren’t being stopped.
Review: Rai #4
Well there’s no denying that this story is addictive. The mystery and the reveals that Matt Kindt has crafted with this narrative have hit all the right beats.
Review: Hero Cats of Stellar City #1
Duh, of course this book was made for me. I think a lot of people are stick of the common comic book hero story. It has been told in so many lights, but I am unlike the ordinary.
Review: Brainstorm #1
The sci-fi genre needs new ideas; by that I mean sci-fi ideas that reach the mainstream because the same water downed plots continue to be used over and over and frankly it’s dull.
Review: The Goon #47
Last issue Goon and Frankie fought off the Rogue’s Gallery assembled to undo the hero. However, The Arab and his Coven don’t give up so easily.
Review: Sundowners #1
Sundowners is one of three new original comics I read this week, and while it’s not the best of the bunch, it definitely did enough to make me want to return for its second issue.
Review: Godzilla: Rulers of Earth #15
The Kiryu MechaGodzilla lands in Russia to pick up the injured Anguirus and take him to a secret base instead of Monster Island.
Review: V Wars #5
I am thinking the same thing as you; “what the hell is going on in this cover?” I spoke a little bit about the covers for V Wars last issue, and although I wish that Kevin Eastman would take over, the original covers are creepy and catch the eye of onlookers who aren’t trying to find this comic.
Review: Bob's Burgers #1
The upside of Bob’s Burgers #1 is that it reminds you strongly of an episode of the show; the downside is that the episode it reminds you of isn’t one of the better ones.
Review: Army of Darkness: Ash Gets Hitched #2
Ash, Shelia, and Wise Man have taken refuge in Arthur’s abandoned castle while the skinless Deadite army, formed by The Faceless One, waits outside the walls.
Pokkén Tournament Is Exactly What It Sounds Like
That's right Bandai Namco announced that they've teamed up with Pokemon for a new arcade fighter called... Pokkén Tournament. From the looks of it it's taking the Tekken system and pairing it with Pokemon characters for a new fighter.
Onechanbara Continues To Be Onechanbara With NSFW Bonus Costumes
If you've never played an Onechanbara game I highly recommend you rent before you buy. The main drawl to the game is the costumes for the main characters, but the graphics for the gameplay look to have gotten better.
This Junko Enoshima Cosplay Kicks All Kinds of Ass!
You know what the great thing about cosplay is? Sometimes you discover new shows to check out because of it. Point in case I have seen other cosplay's of the character Junko Enoshima
Check Out GKids' Trailer For Patema Inverted
New anime movie? Yes please. This one comes from GKids and it looks pretty interesting. Here's the synopsis before you check out the trailer and a clip from the film.
Review: Kamen – Vol. 1
Kamen’s story begins with a man waking up in a field with a bad ass mask on. He panics because of the mask on his face, but suddenly a voice starts talking to him via the mask. It tells him to calm down and not to remove the mask because they both die. Already your interest should be piqued.
Review: Musashi
Your first question is probably, “Is this about Miyamoto Mushashi?” and the answer is simply yes. Musashi is all about the famous Japanese samurai Miyamoto Mushashi that lived at the end of the samurai era. The story takes an interesting take on presenting his life though as it’s narrated by Mushashi’s adopted son.
Review: Displaced Persons
Displaced Persons is one of the best comic books I have read. Ever. Not just the best of the week or the month or even the year, but ever. It’s a story that is complex to understand and yet easy to explain. The problem is that once you explain it, some of the magic is gone from reading it. I’ll do my best not to ruin it for you.
