Cincy Comic Con 14: Comics - People are Dying to Get In!
During Cincy Comic Con ’14, much emphasis was placed on the fact that comics are a passion business, and there are more ways to “break in” than ever. To that end, Tony Moore moderated the “Comics—People are Dying to Get In!” panel consisting of artists Brian Level (The Brothers James, Valiant Comics), Kyle Strahm (Spread, We Will Bury You), writer Dennis Hopeless (Cable & X-Force, Avengers Undercover, Gearhead), and writer/artist Ryan Browne (God Hates Astronauts). Each person brought their own tales of breaking in and staying in this crazy industry.
A Media Sensation - An Interview With The Creators of Thomas Alsop
If you've been following the site for a few months then you may have picked up on the fact that I'm a big fan and supporter of BOOM! Studios Thomas Alsop from writer Chris Miskiewicz and Palle Schmidt. When I was given an opportunity to talk to both creators I jumped at it. If you're following the series then let me tell you... you're in for a treat. Enough from me let's get to it!
Monster & Wine: Episode 8 - Dick Babies
Monster says "sayonara" to his students in Japan, as well as some unwelcome ants in his apartment. Monster & Wine tackle the lofty topic of why people never seem to like the new as much as the old. Plus, the dynamic duo reflect fondly on the final season of The Killing. And just why is this episode called, "Dick Babies?" Listen and find out!
Trailer For Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai Revealed
Okay this might not be what it's called, but I'm calling it the "Library Club" anime. It's based on a popular adult PC game called Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai: A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd which is not only extremely long, but kind of nonsensical.
Episode 150: We're Hungry For Stouffer's
We made it everyone, we're at 150 episodes and counting! Today rather than making this special we're just going to ramble on about the usual things.
Group Review: Death of Wolverine #2
It’s week two of our group review coverage for Death of Wolverine and guess what? He still ain’t dead! We’re going to take this one to very end so join us for the second issue, where our writers/reviewers will give their opinions and a score for the issue.
Trailer Time: Walt Before Mickey
If you didn't know already I'm not the biggest fan of Disney or it's creator Walt Disney. Saving Mr. Banks was a big disappointment, especially in the way it handled Walt's character with kid's gloves.
Black Widow and The Winter Solider As Sailor Scouts? Trust Me, It's Awesome
I'll admit when I read the headline I was like, "how's that going to work?" But then I saw the amazing meshing of costumes that Abby Rou Cosplay and Michelle Norris created and it's actually pretty awesome. I dug it and if you do then show them some support and thank Carlos Adama for the cool pics!
Trailer Time: Kami-sama no Iu Toori Live Action
This movie sounds awesome. Kami-sama no Iu Toori is based on an anime of the same name and the premise is great!
Well That's One Way To Get The Proportions Right: Mikasa vs Colossal Titan
I'll be honest this video is real whatever. It's like all those Deadpool videos you see, but I figured I'd share at least one.
Gotta Capture Them All! An Interview With Frank Gibson
I had the chance to talk to Frank Gibson the writer and co-creator of Capture Creatures, a new series coming from KaBOOM! in November. You may recall these awesome teasers that BOOM! released (Teaser 1, Teaser 2, Teaser 3) pretty cool right? Well's let's talk to Frank about the series!
Second Wave Of Sailor Moon Lingerie Rolls Out
The best side effect of this lingerie is going to be all the cosplayers, models and Sailor Moon fans taking pictures in them. I can't wait.
The Info Zombie – Episode 82: Mark Gibson
Mark Gibson returns in all his glory. Listen to his golden voice expound on the philosophical nature of the human condition.
Pump Releases Some Character Posters
I'm looking forward to checking out Pump because believe it or not I think the subject of clean energy and renewable energy is important especially with our gas guzzling cars! Here's some character posters along with the trailer for the documentary.
Review: Judge Dredd: Anderson Psi Division #2
I got an opportunity to review Judge Dredd: Anderson Psi Division #1 last month…And I liked it, a little bit. As someone who has loved all things Dredd for many years, it was nice to see his partner in justice getting her own mini here to expand the character out with a new detail.
Review: Archer & Armstrong #24
Archer & Armstrong is one of those books that when it comes out every month I am all in and pick it up right away to read. Aside from the great story telling that this run has established, one of the areas that I really like is the character development that is done in this series.
Review: Dawn/Vampirella #1
She’s the Goddess of Witches… she’s the Queen of Vampires… she’s got flowing red hair (sometimes) and a killer attitude to match a killer body… she’s got flowing black hair and a killer attitude to match a killer body. Both have a cult status and both appear to be on the “want” list of powerful demon who wants to make a baby with them. This is the story of Dawn… this is the story of Vampirella… and this is the killer crossover fresh from the mind of Joseph Michael Linsner who is working double duty as both writer and artist.
Review: Black Market #3
Well that was disappointing. We’re three issues into Black Market, and it has yet to do anything that surprises me. I’m not asking that every comic have the type of wicked plot development of The Walking Dead, but it’d be nice if the repercussions of characters’ decisions weren’t as transparent as they are in this comic.
Review: Robotech/Voltron #5
As issue five opens, Claudia Grant questions Minmei about the missing fanjet and its pilot, Rick Hunter. The action switches to Keith in his Black Lion flying through the desert with Roy Fokker in his Skull and Crossbones Veritech on the periphery.
Review: Goddess Inc. #2
Since last month's issue I haven't seen much improvement in the quality of the comic. Goddess Inc. has an interesting concept about gods who are living as mortals more or less, but one of them wants things to go back to the way they were before, ya know with mortals worshipping and sacrificing for them and what not.
