Review: The Valiant #2
The Valiant issue 2 is a solid second act entry in this prestige series from everyone’s favorite underdog publishing universe. The plot moves forward, there are some solid character beats and aside from a surprise art guest (trust me, it’s awesome), the appearance of everyone’s favorite secret agent ninja: NINJAK.

Review: Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! – Ep. 1
If you are an anime fan you have likely watched Sailor Moon or some other magic girl show. If you have ever enjoyed one, watch Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! If you thought magic girl shows were silly and needed to be mocked, watch Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! If you just need a fun show, watch Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!
Interview with Daniel Armstrong of Strongman Pictures
One of my favorite independent movies of 2014 was the Australian roller derby-horror-comedy Murderdrome. Directed by Daniel Armstrong, Murderdrome was one of those movies that makes it fun to be a fan of small budget films. It made its own rules, its own world, and avoided cliched Hollywood-isms like the plague.
Review: Vampirella #100
Vampirella may be over 45 years old from its original publication in the late 1960s, but Dynamite Entertainment has had rights since 2010 submitting many new installments along the way. Now several miniseries, one shots, and ongoing monthlies later, they have reached their 100th issue. What better way to celebrate than to unleash an anthology style tome utilizing many of the writers who have been a part of that rich and bloody heritage over the past few years since Dynamite’s run.
Review: TMNT – New Animated Adventures #19
This issue contains two stories. The first 'the flavor of fear' opens with the turtles out hunting for the krang until Mikey sees a new pizza restaurant (you know our boy Mikey wants some of that). When the rest of the turtles aren't paying attention he decides to sneak off to get some pizza. He gets caught by Raph who lets Mikey go as long as he promises to bring him back a slice (Love the brotherly love between Raph and Mikey).
Review: The Flash 1.10 – Revenge of the Rogues
So, I will be taking over Flash duty from the talented Nina Bird and what an episode to take over on. First, my thoughts on the series up until now because it appears Nina was rather unimpressed with the series. Which is fine, this site is built on personal opinion and I can definitely see why someone wouldn’t like this show. I, personally, think Flash is great. I’ve liked it since the pilot and I think it’s better than the show it spun (span?) off from: Arrow.
Review: Drifter #3
Compared to the last issue very little actually happens in the third installment of Drifter and yet… I kind of liked it more. I mean I really liked the last issue, but there is just something about this issue that grabbed me. It could be the fact that we’re shown the day-to-day of the planet as things have settled in for our mystery man Pollux.
Review: Zombie Tramp #6
I kind of thought that the last issue was starting a new story arc and maybe it is, but this issue isn’t a continuation from the last other than the mention of the werewolf we meet back in issue #5. Instead it’s really a one-shot filler issue and nothing new happens.
Review: Borderlands #6
This is a marked step up from last issue. This time we get stuff that wasn't in the game, extra characterisation and back story. This time we get to see a lot more of Patricia Tannis (and a lot less sandwich, replaced by her new obsession a chair (the pay-off is much better this time)). This issue covers Patricia's back story, through the use of an audio-journal she recorded that claptrap decides to listen to.
Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. - "Spidey, I Blew Up the Dinosaur"
Well if you haven't lost faith in Marvel's animated series on Disney XD then you will after this clip. Possibly the worst thing I've ever seen animated.
Trailer Time: Dead Rising: Watchtower
I'm a pretty big fan of the Dead Rising series. I've played all of them extensively--I'm not fucking around I love these games. But this movie looks to be a little off the mark when it comes to capturing the soul of the series. Then again what the hell do I know? Watch free on Crackle March 27th!
Trailer Time: Game of Thrones - Episode 2: The Lost Lords
Be sure to check out Kevin's review for the first chapter of Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series, but honestly if you're a GoT fan then you're foaming at the mouth for this.
Review: Red Sonja #14
I don’t know if it’s just me, but man, this new story arc in Red Sonja has a real dark feel about it. Sure, The She Devil has had moments of darkness during writer Gail Simone and artist Walter Geovani’s run. But with those moments, there was always some equal moments of humor and a lighter feel.
Review: Reyn #1
A poor farmer in the field, working hard to keep his family fed, is suddenly attacked by a giant spider that burrows up from the ground. Just as the farmer and his family seemed doomed, enter our hero, Reyn (not that he gives his name, he is bad ass like that), who makes quick work of the monster in a well done action scene.
Review: The Strain: The Night Eternal #5
We have now come to Issue #5 of Dark Horse Comics’ graphic depiction of Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s third book of The Strain Trilogy. Entitled The Night Eternal, in reading and viewing the images, you will find that there could be no better or more appropriate title. This installment is a downer. No doubt about it. Human kind, and even vampire kind have been utterly swallowed up by The Master and his devious dealings. The guy (make that the “It”) that is The Master has for all intents and purposes, won. There is nothing more to fight for. Earth is doomed. Or is it?
Review: Samurai Jack #16
We have entered a new storyline with Samurai Jack called the "Master of Time, and I couldn’t be more excited. After last month’s conclusion, I was totally stoked about this series. Every issue had something to offer. The story was fun, the art was colorful, and like most readers, I was ready to kick some Aku butt.
Review: Goners #4
Josiah isn’t dead, but Mama Latimer is a weird monster thing and everything’s gone to hell. Goners #4 is hard to follow at times- must we always be so cryptic?- but there’s a lot of action and a decent amount of gore. If that’s your thing.
Review: Rise of the Magi #5
We get a good run-down of the story so far in the opening pages of issue five, and we need them. The last time we checked in with Asa, Bloop, and April was back in September. So the recap helps.
